Yes, you can sell your artwork through MutualArt—but not directly as an artist. At MutualArt, we provide a streamlined way for collectors and artwork owners to connect with top-tier auction houses and galleries for potential sales. However, this service is not available to artists directly.

How It Works

We facilitate the sale process by connecting artwork owners with our trusted network of partner galleries and auction houses. Here’s how it works:

1. Submit Your Artwork

Start by completing the Sell Artwork form on our website. You'll be asked to provide key details about the piece, such as the artist name, medium, dimensions, condition, and provenance.

2. Artwork Review

Our team will review your submission and identify the most relevant partners who may be interested in offering your work for sale.

3. Receive Offers

If a partner is interested, they’ll reach out with an offer or request additional information. You’re under no obligation to accept.

4. Consignment Agreement

If you accept an offer, you’ll enter into a consignment agreement with the selected auction house or gallery.

5. Shipping & Promotion

You’ll ship the artwork to the partner, who will professionally photograph, catalog, and promote it ahead of the sale.

6. Sale & Payment

Once sold, you’ll receive payment directly from the auction house or gallery, minus any applicable commissions or fees outlined in the consignment agreement.

Important Details

• Direct Artist Submissions Not Available: We currently do not offer direct listing services to artists. Artists interested in selling work through MutualArt should work with a gallery or auction house in our network.
• No Commission from MutualArt: We do not charge a commission for facilitating these connections. Any fees will be set by the auction house or gallery and shared with you during the process.
• Timeframe: The process of receiving offers can take between 5 days to 1 month. Once an offer is accepted, the auction may be scheduled up to 3 months in advance.
• Appraisal Services: We also offer a professional art appraisal service if you would like to assess your artwork’s market value before selling.
